gdmotorsport

A site featuring sites in Yorkshire from the time period commonly called the Dark Ages; that is from the end of Roman Rule in AD410 and the Norman Conquest of AD1066.

It represents places I have visited and photographed, some being outside of Yorkshire. English civilisation did not start in 1066!

Special mention the The Dark Age Remains of Britain by Lloyd & Jennifer Lang (Constable Guide) which I used to locate these sites. Unfortunately it is now out of print. Other sources shown on individual pages.
